Hi, we are about to buy privately a Conway Crusader 2009 and need following help:-

Can I check for finance or "stolen item" or do I just trust?
We are advised to get a wheel lock that prevents wheel from being removed, anyone know the best and correct one for this trailer?

There is no requirement for folding campers to be registered so you will just have to trust your instincts,re wheel clamps we used one like this
it is insurance approved.

FC aren,t like cars so any finance wont be on the FC directly it should just be a personal loan so shouldnt be a problem. However I would ask to see the sellers purchase documents just to be sure it actually theirs to sell. By wheel lock do you mean a locking wheel nut for alloy wheels? If so the socket to remove it should come with the FC. Ours came in a seperate silver coloured plastic case. If the sellers haven,t got it make sure they get the replacement before you buy. Without them you can,t change the wheel in the event of a puncture.

Thank you both for the info - really helpful.    As for the wheel clamp - it will be a clamp as opposed to locking wheel nut - but we will certainly ask about the socket in case a locking nut is already fitted.

Does Josey60's one fit a Conway Crusader 2009 and (presumably) does the design prevent access to the wheel nuts and therefore removal of the wheel?

When you buy a wheel clamp they usually have a size 'from and up to' that they fit, if you know the wheel size you can look for one to fit.

With regards second question design does stop access to wheel nuts but also stops the tyre from turning so can't be towed away.

I have this one for show/security and the main alko on the hitch, covered up.

You might want to see what conditions your Insurance Company places on you. I have, and am required to have both a wheel clamp and a hitch lock. I find the clamp handy as a visible deterrent, easily seen by even the most cursory glance

Thank you Heather & Hengus, we can now go and buy one that will fit and do the job we need. I understand that it already has a hitchlock fitted, although this might need replacing with something better - we can check that out once we pick up - can't wait now to get in there and "play".  Thank you everyone for your help.

Any suggestions re:- Porch Awning for it?
