Very jealous of your Pathfinder/Crusader. Couldn't stretch to that at the moment, but maybe one day? Looks absolutely lovely.

Sorry didn't want to make you jealous I just can't help showing it and sharing !!! Excited not

This is our third FC since last year !!! Although I don't know if you can count the second one as we never used it and only kept it for 2 weeks lol

After the cruiser which was 2004 we knew we wanted a pathfinder but it was a big jump in money so me in my wisdom bought a 1998 conway crusader of eBay on a whim (thought I'd get outbid).
It was in perfect condition clean/ no mould ect but it just wasn't what we wanted, so put it back on eBay (made a couple of hundred pound) and bought our pathfinder.
This is staying until the wife gets her way and we get a caravan.

We bought a 2004 model because I don't like the two tone green ones between 2005-2006 and we couldn't stretch to the coffee/cream colours of 2006-2008( although since buying ours and doing more research the coffee ones seem to fade badly) so glad we couldn't.

Ours doesn't seem to be faded at all for something that is 10 years old and has always been kept indoors in winter but I'm afraid it's going to spend it life on the drive through this winter with the winter cover on.

Right, that's the towbar and (single) electrics fitted. Fingers crossed that I actually get to use it next week!

I'll do the 12S electrics another day when I have more time.

looks great. Ours was an ebay bargain, but slightly older than yours. Still in excellent nick for its age and we're now on our 3rd summer with it. I think the good things about slightly older campers if you're not afraid of modding it and ruining the resale of it. We have done a few basic modifications on our, I made new curtains for it, we got some mirrors from ikea and used an adhesive to stick them down the side of the wardrobe so we now have a full length(ish) mirror. We did away with the 12v light on the side of the wardrobe and put an electric one in it's place (again from ikea) and we also replaced all the handles of the cupboard with metal ones. Simple things which lift the look of the camper and make it look a bit more modern.

As for the awning... we have now got that down to a tea, but it's taken us since 2012 to get it just so. We can now put it up without asking the kids to hold a pole each.

A friend has offered us their back garden so we can practice putting the awning up before we actuaslly go anywhere. They are very experienced campers with a TT so we'll probably take them up on that!
The only modifications I'll be doing to our FC is to make some LED strip lights for the awning and add a 12v plug for them. It seems a shame to spoil it's originality in a way.....

Looks like its been well loved and looked after by its previous owner. Im sure they would be delighted if they knew you were so pleased with your purchase. Sounds silly but we had our previous TT from new in 1986 and when we got the FC last year because I couldnt bear to sell it someone who might not look after as well as us I gave it to my sister.

Hello fellow campers, I have just purchased a Pennine Folding Camper, its the Sterling model, I think its a 1998. I bought it from a chap on Gumtree, I think I got it for a bargain at £1000, it is in very good condition and has only had 2 previous owners. We have taken it out for a trial run and had a couple of nights camping down in the New Forest. We didn't put the awning up, I need to get a groundsheet for it, maybe 2, but unsure of the suze, does anyone know how big an awning is on a Pennine Sterling ?

I think you will need a 5 metre x 2.5 metre groundsheet for the sterling
Sure it's the same size as the cruiser or Pullman models.

The Sterling awning measures 530cm x 250cm according to the old brochure I have in front of me. It's my guess that it uses the old Pullman body (like mine) which is 5 meters. The awning sides aren't vertical, remember The Pullman went to 535cm living space in 1995. The Sterling is listed as being 502cm in my brochure, the extra 32cm coming from the tapered sides.

Sterling gross weight is listed as 750kg and ex-worls weight is 500kg. Nose weight ex-works is 37kg.

Bear in mind that the fridge, shelf unit, wardrobe and the awning (for example) are extras, and add to the "ex-works" weight

One disappointment is that it was advertised as having underfloor heating, but if it has then I can't find it!

As Homebird says, the underfloor heating is usually located in the floor. Ours had a cover with carpet over the heater grill so you may just not have noticed it.

If it has underfloor heating there will be a second vent on the side, like the fridge one.
