Where do you guys store all the clothes? I don't want to have everything in a suitcase for 2 weeks. I can see, that some manufacturers (Camp-let) have a little closet between beds, but that is small and there is no shelves. Where do you keep your clothes? Did you buy something extra with shelves and simply put it on the side of a tent?

Oh yes...your outlay will not stop with the camper...you will be buying all sorts of paraphernalia...we used the wardrobe in the camper and also bought another camping wardrobe to use in the awning which had a hanging rail and shelves.

Camping pop up wardrobes for a longer stay or outwell crates for a shorter stay (we pack in them) and they go under the beds

One more thing. Are trailer tents any better for heavy rain and specialy heavy winds/storms then tents or caravans? I see a lot of accidents with falling trees and branches, so that is worrying.

I'd say that they would fair better than a tent as you have the added weight of the trailer and heavy canvas, not sure about a caravan (but they are so much smaller and claustrophobic any way you don't want one!). There again it's all to do with how you pitch in the first place. Our tent held up against sustained 60mph gusts of winds in Cornwall over a 2 day period because it was pitched correctly. Trees - we avoid them!

But if you avoid trees, you have no shade :( And in many camps it is impossible to avoid trees, because they are everywhere.

Our TT has a sun canopy for shade and we have also bought a cotton tarp this year for additional shade in France. Most sites we have been to the trees look to have been managed, guess they have to if people are sleeping under them in a tent!

Got our Galleon this year and we love it.
First trip out we put full awning and sun canopy up, hard work so will only do this again if staying for 2 weeks or longer.
We stayed in the New Forest for a week and only put up the main awning that time, just right for that amount of time.
Last weekend we only put up the sun awning which was perfect for a quick couple of nights away, and we're hoping to get away next week just for 1 night when we'll only put the cabin up.
Love the versatility of the Galleon!
Security wise, we tend to lock valuables in the car.

Got our Galleon new this year too and agree that it's too much hard work to put it all up just for a few days (we also have the side bedroom annexe). Will just put the sun canopy up now if going for a few days.

I do love the huge amount of space you get with it all up tho!

You guys have the patience of saints :-) I agree with Nick, except I would say the Olympe with sun canopy, for 2 and a small child then the Odysee with canopy
The Trigano units are well made, last a long time and if looked after give great service.
The 2 units we have had - the Chantilly and now the Olympe have stood upto whatever the English weather can throw at them.
As with all units it is also very important to pitch correctly and ensure in high winds that you check the pegs are still secure.

We started with a Camplet, moved onto a Jamet Jametic (very similar to the Trigano Odyssee), and now have a Combi Camp, and I wish we'd gone for the Combi Camp first. Each time we've tried for the forever unit, but in truth our needs have kept changing.

The Combi Camp we have now is very modular, we've just got back from a week away with our two teenagers, a boy and a girl, and had spacious accommodation for us all. Alternatively with just the cabin and awning roof we have a quick pitch weekender for the two of us.   

Combi Camps are expensive, but the Trigano Alpha is very similar, and I think Commanche do one as well. I also like the look of the Raclet Panama for the same reasons, plus easy access to the storage area. Have you looked at Holtkamper? Eye watering prices, but very nice indeed!

Folding Campers are more sophisitcated, but if you need the awning space then you do lose the time advantage. They are also bigger and heavier, and we can't store one!

Most trailer tent sinks have a waste water outlet and pumped cold water, you just need to boil a kettle for hot, and anything that's canvas shouldn't suffer too much from condensation or humidity, although anything is going to get hot inside on a warm day. Slatted beds are better for comfort and they also reduce condensation under the mattress. For security we use the car, but you could fit a small safe to any underbed storage area if you wished. We do live out of bags, but there are plenty of camp furniture options for storage.

And one last bit of advice, check the towing capacity of your car and the maximum towbar nose weight. I have a Peugeot 3008 Crossover with 2l diesel engine, which can tow pretty much anything in theory, BUT because its a hybrid with electric motor rear wheel drive, the tow limit is 500kg Braked! and a max nose weight of only 70kg.

This certainly limited our choices when deciding what to go for.

Regarding the Holtkampers, saw them in the NEC show last year, they did look stunning, very stylish and eye-catching, but outside our price limit.

We had a 25year old Pennie clubman a couple or years back and it was in better condition than many 5year old caravans. We bought it for £520 on ebay and sold it 2years later for £560. We then bought a 2000 Pennie Pathfinder with a toilet. We have never had any problems with them and me and my husband have got it down to a fine art and can have it up in 10mins, the only time it is hard work is when there is very gusty wind. The mattresses aren't brilliant but we put thin memory foam topper on, which can stay in place even when you fold it away. Pennie's are more expensive but looked after they can last a long time and hold there money.
