Hi all,
took our new(to us)second hand Conway cardinal away last week, to find that the bedroom platforms both let in water on the corners... the canvas when the bedroom supports are all in place seems to fall just a little short so the metal corners of the bed platforms are exposed.... anyone got any advice on how to add pieces or some kind of skirt (on a budget?).. also, the fridge decided to pack up after one day... we had some lovely beginners luck. husband checked the fuse and said it seems okay - anyone had this issue and managed to repair it? all advice welcome -Thanks!
... also, any advice on where to buy some appropriate rubber backed canvas or something that I could add as an under piece in the corners would be really helpful! Thanks everyone!
firstly the fridge - the unit need to be completely level for it to work properly but if no electric coming through try the gas that way you will know if it is the fuse / electrics or the unit not being level! the fridges can be also be temperamental if the weather is really hot.
Secondly the bed canvas - you need to pull the canvas over the ends when erecting however if your shock elastic needs replacing it might not hold in place -check this out. also if the unit isn't level this can again cause the canvas to be tight at the corners.
Your bed pods may have shrunk if the unit was packed wet and then left to dry without the shock cords attached. Before you try adding anything on to them, I would try wetting them again and attaching the cords to try and stretch them as they dry. If the shock cords have stretched, might be worth replacing with new bungee cord which is readily available.
I have just replaced the shock chord on my pennine aztec for the second time in as many years - I used the 3mm last time and it quickly perished and didnt hold anything tight any more- this time I used 8mm and although very chunky seems to do the trick I think though from trying both that 5mm or 6mm would be the best thickness to use.
just thought I would share this in case any one needs to replace theirs.
