Hi all,
I have a 30 year old pennine pullman and it is in good nic but the transit cover has started to crack in places where it goes from flat at the top to vertical at the sides, especially at the corners. I have repaired with duck tape and tenacious tape but it looks unsightly and has to be redone frequently. I was wondering if there is any type of jollop I could brush on that sets flexibly?
Thanks
You may be better off getting a new one it the ageing of the fabric due to weather damage if stored outside. Not sure of the cost as the previous owners replaced ours.
I only paid £300 for the whole unit. It was a great deal but don't want to spend too much. Pennine don't sell them anymore as it is such an old model so would have to get one made :(
I would suggest a new cover rather than opening it one day and finding the canvas rotten!! Pullman Cover Another Cover
Also worth looking in Yellow Pages or similar for Companies who make Curtains for lorries.
We have the same sort of issue with the corners on the cover for our Globetrotter, stitching is coming away and fabric is very worn.
Quoted £350 for a new cover, which is approaching what we paid for the whole folding camper so wont be going down that route.
Have decided that over the course of the winter will get some equivalent material and simply sew "patches" on the inside at the corners to strengthen the existing material.
The cover is still waterproof, just needs a bit of tlc.
Try tent valeting service I bought a transit cover from them this year cost £150 it was for a 1984 cruiser fits like a glove there is also a company on ebay who makes them to suit can't remember the name try the search option may help
