Hello from a new owner of a Penine Pathfinder 2005. We have fallen in love with our trailer tent but having previously owned a 23ft motorhome we are concerned about the lack of storage in comparison. We would appreciate any tips.

we have a Conway crusader to create more storage space we bought a camping kitchen to store food in the awning .

I am also looking at buying side skirts that gives you storage under the bed

you could also buy an awning extension for extra room

it all depends how much storage you want and what it is for :)

Ah the problem of only having the bottom half of a caravan. You need to maximise the space you do have and reduce what you take away if possible.

We use a holdall each for clothes which live on a bed by day. You can put folding crates in any cupboards or under seat lockers you have. These can be carried in the car so need to open up to pack or unpack. They make it possible to get more in a small space.

Hi .... you are the proud owner of a Folding Camper ... not a Trailer Tent!
As far as storage is concerned ... what do you want to store?
Are you talking purely about transporting stuff when folded .... or when it's u?
I took out our fold down cupboard, and gained a lot of space for travelling storage. We now have an extra fridge on the two drawer base the cupboard was on.
We carry three folding cupboards/larders for use in the awning.
Here's pics of some ideas:

Kelper is right. Not a trailer tent. The Pathfinder is about as far into Folding Camper territory as it's possible to go.

One thing I have to ask is; how many of you go away, and for how long??? Kelper. That's a hugely impressive setup, and looks great, but I tend to go a little bit the other way when camping, to me, one of the big advantages of a folding camper over a tent / trailer tent is that it's a lot quicker to set up. Yes, the awning adds significantly to the time, but it's still a heck of a lot quicker than my old tent, cos I'm not setting up loads of furniture and cupboards. For me (and I appreciate we're all different) half the fun is in getting everything into one place and not having the restriction of having to carry loads of furniture and storage with you everywhere. In my case, there's no more than 3 of us at any one time, and we usually only go away for 5 days or so at a time so we find the storage in our Sterling more than adequate. Work surface, less so, and I do have a kitchen unit in the awning sometimes, for the oven, microwave etc, as well as additional storage, but that's about as far as it goes. I moved away from tents, to avoid too much setting up. I have no desire to do it in a folding camper. Rather than worrying what storage you need, I would concentrate on what you can comfortably fit in, and make the most of that. If you're struggling to do that, then there are some great suggestions above.

agree with a lot of that ... but we are away for six weeks at a time, and probably take a fair amount of kit ... including 2 boats, three bikes, Lafuma recliners, Large garden table and chairs, et al.
This year we were two ... so reduced what's in the pics considerably .... e.g. the three three drawer clothes units, which used to just lift in and out of the car, were not used ... instead the existing three storage units were split into two for clothing and one as a larder ... the fridge is now inside the FC main body on the unit that the fold down cupboard used to sit on .... so the awning was a lot clearer.
OH does vere towards glamping!

The important thing is clothes & food etc in the car and camping things in or on the camper. Makes packing & unpacking a doddle.
