It's a case of buyer beware !!!
Someone is not going to be happy when they go and collect it.
It could still be a bargain for someone willing to put the effort in and live with the faults you can't put right.
You really do only get what you pay for in the end.

The description of the trailer is poor and with no feedback anyone bidding is taking a big risk... As you have found out by viewing.

Good luck with your search..
I would be selling mine if the misses had her way as she really wants a caravan but I don't think I'm ready for one just yet lol

We went to see a crusader today but it needed a fair amount of work on it and many of the faults I think would annoy us. It was under budget but I think I'd prefer to spend a little more and get something we'll love. We spent a lot of time and money doing up our trailer tent and I don't really want to have to do the same again with a folding camper.

There really isn't much choice and everything we like is about £900 out of our reach which is so frustrating! I've sent loads of emails out and no responses to any of them. Feeling quite frustrated.

Stick with it Joanne ,make a list of what you NEED , not what you'd like in your camper, and these lovelies are right with viewing first .
I was surprised the one in Durham fetched £2870 definitely not a bargain with the work it needed .

Hiya everyone, we made the decision to upgrade( dont know if thats the right phrase?) to a folding camper from our Vango Maritsa 7 man tent about 2 weeks ago. After 2 weeks of torrential rain and thunderstorms in France this year and a week drying out all our gear when we got home, I wanted a different camping option for us (family 5). We looked at a Pennine Pathfinder near us in a caravan saleroom, £4000.00 they wanted for it on a 2001 model, bottle green and terracotta (whoever designs the interiors on these things needs shooting). I fell in love but sadly it had been sold 1/2 hour before we got there. So, I came home and surfed good old ebay and found our new baby. 2001 Pennine Pathfinder Highway ltd edition. The photos looked great, but of course its scary stuff buying from an ad online, plus the fact it was in Southampton and we are in Teesside so the journey was epic. I was nervous that it would be awful, but I need not have worried at all, It has all basically been ripped out and started again., new oven and hob, new carpet, new waterproof gray waxed cotton covers on seats, all curtains and pelmets replaced with beautiful IKEA fabric, new waterproof outer cover, new full outdoor cover,3 new wheels, all electics and gas pipes and element replaced, new hitch and a full service in June. We got it for £3,350.  If you take off the folowing : the full awning (£995) a made to measure Isabella midi awning (£600.00) 3 additional bedroom pods and inner tents (£95.00) all waste bottles, water carriers, bits and bobs and a heater approx £150.00) The camper actually only cost us £1500.00, and thats without taking the cost of the service and new wheels off. As far as im concerned, we got an absolute bargain. She looks as new, apart from a few teeny scuffs on the bodywork. We spent our first night in her as we collected it from the new forest, it was fantastic, cant wait to test it out at the end of the month properly. We probably paid over the odds for the age of our camper, but the old owners had spent over £3,000 on refurbishing it to a top spec, we dont need to replace anything for years and, we got the additional smaller awning which is ideal for weekends away, the gorgeous covers and curtains sold it for me, so modern and up to date. So dont discount an older model, if you are lucky, you just might get a good a bargain as we did , good luck with your search! x

I think I may have just agreed to buy a folding camper! But scared, it's not perfect and there are a few things that need to be looked at but overall it seems good and it was a very good price.

The top of the canvas looks like there may be a little mildew on it. Can this be professionally cleaned and if so how much would we be looking at? It's only on the top and the rest of the canvas looks pretty good. I'd be happy to put some of the money we saved on having this done. Inside the furnishing are clean and well looked after nothing that a Hoover and a wipe down wouldn't sort.

So once we've got it home and cleaned it up are there any tips for storing over the winter, comes with a winter cover. Maybe I should start a new thread?

So excited and scared all at the same time, we collect on Saturday!

That was quick .....lol
Don't think any amount of cleaning will remove mildew!!
I have read a few threads on here about different cleaners but you have to reproof afterwards.
I would try clean warm water to start with and see how it looks.
There is something called Milton but never used it myself.

Well done and post some photos

You can't see the mildew/stain as the lining hides it and it doesn't show on the outside. There's none on the linings. The stains themselves don't worry me but don't know if it's a problem that will get worse or whether it is just a stain. Don't fancy tackling it myself but don't want to pack it away for the winter incase it gets worse.

Sorry don't know the answer to that
If I was you I'd start a new thread and someone will know the answer on here.

Is it the 2006 model you got ?

As for over winter storage I leave everything inside mine but I do take the sink unit out as if the taps have any residue water in them this can freeze and crack the seals and you cannot replace you have to buy new taps.
I also have an extra tarp I put under the main cover and a winter cover over that.
This is the first year with the pathfinder so a little nervous as it cost a lot of money, last year we had a cruiser.
I'm thinking of making a wooden frame for the top with a plastic cover so the rain / snow cannot sit directly onto the top.

It was the 2006 model. Inside is fab and it looks like everything is in good condition, no signs of damp or damage. The rest of the canvas looks absolutely fine, just the top bit that's a potential problem.

Will start a new thread about the mildew and have sent an email to a local canvas repairer to get their opinion too.
