I've just bought a vintage Esterel (picking it up in the morning) and I can't wait. My not so trusty VW campervan is minus a working engine currently and it's killing me not getting out and about camping at the moment so the folding caravan option seemed a good next step.
I've been watching the Esterel on Ebay for a while since a friend picked up a great one for £1k in summer and the late 1980s models tend to go for around similar prices. Not significantly more than a large tent .... There are also some Casita models that look very similar. Definitely worth looking at.

Thanks everyone, you have all given me some great options.
I looked at the Rapido online, and it didn't look too east to put up, but will consider that model if another comes up.
Love the Esterel too, and yes, they are a good buy on ebay at the moment, though I think there have been a couple of iffy (scam) ones there too.
Such a shame that they are all so far away, well, not by some peoples estimation, but loooong way for me I don't travel well unfortunately, and have an old dog that cannot be left at home.
I am so happy that even the old ones are still well loved by everyone that has them, so there is hope yet.

I think the plus for a Gobur is the original quality and the fact they are still made and repaired in this country by Gobur themselves. In Norfolk, Norwich I believe.
