We are trying to find a service agent to have our Conway Cardinal Clubman  folding camper serviced, including checking and if required repairing, the roof lifting mechanism. Plenty of places will "do" the gas, electrical, bodywork, water system, even report on the condition of the canvas, but, we cannot find anybody who really seems to know about the lifting gear, we often get strange blank expressions from so called Conway agents. Is there anybody out here that can help, we live in Cambridgeshire but can travel a reasonable distance, if we have to, and are willing to stop in a B & B overnight if required. Please do not say try Pennine as we have been there , done that and got the tee shirt. in our personal opinion the take over was a sad day for Conway

Help Please

C & C

Have you tried talking to Graham Shuck at Tent Valeting Services in Bolton as he is a Conway expert?

Though it's a long journey (even longer than for you), if my Cruiser needed anything other than routine stuff, I would try Casey's just outside Chester (01244 682002). It's run by David Lowe, who worked for Conway for 27 years (MD for 11). He certainly knows the ins and outs of all Conway units. Chester is a nice place for a short break at any time of the year and there's an adequate campsite nearby (if you've got another tent to use while yours is being done, of course!), as well as P&R into the City Centre.

However, why not join the Conway Owners Club forum and ask there? I think you would probably get enough practical information to assess the condition of the lift mechanism yourself and repair it if necessary.

Cheers
