Ask Richard Moss at Gobur about the awning options; he supports his excellent products from cradle to grave.

An Esterel might be lighter than a Gobur as that is not one of their features, but talk "quality" then IMO they are not in the same league.

ok- a new gobur awning cost about a thousand pound, the van only cost £2200 so we don't have much money left looking to spend about £200, yeah I heard that gobur were supposed too be the best folding campers that's why we chose that over the esterel and paid a few hundred more never had a caravan before I cant wait :D

I still think Richard Moss will give you the advice you need of what will or will not fit, sizes etc.
He knows not everyone can buy his kit, but is astute to know happy Gobur owners are key to his company's continuing success, that certainly includes the owners of old Goburs.
For the price of a phone call, it is worth trying, I doubt he has changed.

He has open days for all gobur owners including a meal etc. He really does like to hear from you. He may even have 2nd hand awnings. I've seen the odd gobur awning on ebay.

I have owned a 1995 Gobur 12/2T since last year and it has been excellent and trouble free. The build quality is great and it could easily be mistaken for less than half its age.

I bought the caravan privately but when I contacted Gobur recently for advice and to purchase a winter cover they were very helpful so worth asking if they can help with a used awning.

I have the Gobur insured with Clubcare throught the Camping and Caravanning Cub.

The gobur awning rail is under the roof and lower than a conventional awning.
As stated above I have one that fits all 12ft goburs, anyone interested make me an offer.

Thanks thats answered my question, the Esterel rail is on top of roof so a larger choice of awnings will fit.
