Hi everybody, hope you all had a great Christmas

I managed to break the zip slider on my 2002 Cabanon Mistral awning. I will need to replace it and hope that somebody here can help.

What is the zip slider size (i think its a 10), as I am going to replace it myself.

If that fails does anyone know of a tent repair company based just off the M6, as I have to travel from Scotlandf to Wolverhampton in January and could arrange to have it fixed en route.

Best bet is Tent Valeting Services, in Bolton. Most of the major companies (including Conway / Pennine) use(d) them and they have an excellent reputation. If you can't get to see them, they will do everything by post. Speak to Graham on 01204 708131.

I once tried to get a zip hasp from Zlide On but you need to know the exact measurements of the zip and hasp or you could end up with the wrong size. There were no identity markings or numbers on my existing zip hasp and trying to measure a zip to the exact millimetre proved almost impossible without a micrometer.

In the end I repaired it myself after watching this video. There are other helpful videos on utube as well. I made the cut to the zip at the open end and then taped it up afterwards to stop the hasp pulling off again...easier than fiddling about at the top of the zip.
