Hi, me and my husband bought our first Trailer Tent (Sunncamp 240) last year and have only set it up once to see if we could do it... We managed it.
But now the summer is just around the corner, we have no idea where to go for our first holiday at the end of April... We are in the Manchester area and would anyone be able to advise us on a decent place to stay (I need my amenities!) lol.
Thanks

Are you wanting coastal places? Inland places? How many miles/ or how long time wise from Manchester? When you say amenities do you mean nice shower block or do you mean clubhouse, swimming pool etc?
Will you be taking kids?
Sorry for all the questions but it will help us give better advice if we have a good idea of what you fancy.
I agree with Kelper! France is THE place but if you want to try it for a weekend - - but the weather has got to be kind! - - why not try Anglesey! If the weather is good there is no better place
Hi,
We went to St David's campsite at Red Wharf bay, Anglesey, for our first outing with a trailer tent, 10 years ago. Nice site, on the beach, with a decent shower block from what I remember ; has reviews on here. Doesn't take dogs thou' if that was a requirement. Bout 2hrs from ,Didsbury, Sth Manchester, where we are. Great for a weekend but it's France every time for us for any longer!
New Hall Farm at Edingley is a great site. Adults only, really nice toilets and showers, very quiet. Near enough to walk into the local village pubs, close Southwell which is a nice little town. Also close to Sherwood Pines Forest, Clumber Park and Ruffird Abbey.
Another site with really good facilities in a similar area is Teversal caravan and camping site-never stayed there myself but have been told that the toilet facilities are fantastic.
What I would do is go to a local campsite for one or two nights prior to your holiday, that way home is close if you find there is something you can't do without, you can then build a list items which are must haves, then need items and luxury items. Once you have this list you are prepared for your holiday. There is nothing worse than arriving on a site and finding you have forgotten something you really need and end up having to buy it.

If it is a trial run, then erect and dismantle it several times to get the feel.
Remember it was easy erecting it on a smooth, flat sheltered surface; but slightly different on a sloping pitch in the wind and rain.
Allow time for the full and frank discussions on each other's parentage during putting up phase.
Bob's idea about camping close to home is a sound one. Use the campsite search facility on here.
