If you have a hatchback you could get a fresnel lens for the back window, also helps with hitching up (will also help on a saloon if all you want is to see the trailer)Wide angle lens
Wasn't a problem while driving s you can see it on a corner. You would hear if there was a problem.
When reversing you can see it pop out one side so steer that way and when it pops out the other steer that way. Little bit at a time. Once turning you can see it.
I found with camping, it usually had a bit more in and with the PVC could see OK. If you have a hard top you may be able to fit a luggage rack.
If he has a built in sat nav, and if he has a rear view camera ...
What sort of trailer is it?
When I towed an ERDE, I had a a hard top with a pair of bars ... and a roof box on top ... so very visible and increased the carrying capacity hugely.
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
All great ideas, love the split screen Sat nav idea! Don't think I'll have much luck convincing the other half however.
It is indeed a Transit, a 1996 Tourneo with no rust (honest) and a lift up tailgate rather than the seperate doors.
The trailer is a Trigano Chantilly, not sure of he year yet. Have seen one on eBay with a luggage rack and the manual shows it with bikes on top so that would be a perfect solution, now to get out there with the welder if I can't find one!
Thanks for all your tips, the lens is a good idea also, would one stick on tinted glass?
We had bikes on top, too.
If you do that ... check on the number of bikes it can 'officially' take.
We carried three on the ERDE, one year, sheered the tipping bolt connection half way up a mountain pass in France.
Halfords declined responsibility for it as there were 3 bikes on it ... ERDE say a maximum of two (somewhere).
I pointed out that Halfords had fitted the bike carriers to the trailer ...
They then repaired it!
