We have a Conway Crusader (same as a Pathfinder) and can sleep 6 easily, packing away wet is a concern but in comparison with a caravan so much easier to tow! More roomy than a caravan and the awning (only used for main holidays) gives so much room!

So many helpful posts, so thank you. I think one of my concerns, on reflection, is drying a camper out as I don't have wide enough access to my garden for the trailer, and the front of my house and the driveway are not that big. I think I'd be the talk of the street with the Pathfinder folded out across the front...could be done but I'd rather use the big garden at the back.
So, I wonder if anyone can tell me whether it's possible to remove the canvas for drying, or would it be a pain in the backside?
Yvonne.

Navver,
Thanks, I had a look at the Dandy and it's nice but the Pennine does appeal that bit more😁 I like that the Dandy looks so solid but the Pennine's size and, yes, aesthetics appeal more.Shallow of me, I know,he-he.

hi kelper,  many  thanks for your offer of  sending us details of  the  storage  site you use in france, it  would  be  much appreciated if  you could  let us have the  info, at  the minute we  are lucky to have the use of  a relatives garage, but  travelling  down south  from  the north west of england  takes time and obviously  more expense keep taking it  on the ferry as opposed  to just going over in the car, we do tend to just go to france  rather than uk sites, as you seem to get a lot more ie swimming pools etc  on french sites for the same or less money per night than uk  sites, if the camper was in a suitable  location in france, it would hopefully  give us the chance of a couple more hols, the price you pay for indoor storage seems a great price, cheers,  ben

I didn't realise that the Dandy was insulated, so that's cool. I have a look and see what's available as I understand they're not manufactured any more.

Kelper- the idea of storing in France appeals to me as that is where we would use it. Where do you store it and what happens if it's raining and you need to pack up wet?

We store near Angers (Loire).
It's a very new, huge, storage building, with excellent security and very secluded.
We have never had a wet pack-up, yet! That's tempting the fates!
We usually end up south of France or Spain for our last camp site ... so pretty likely to get decent weather to pack up in. If it were to be a wet pack ... then we'd stop en route to get it dry ... any sun in France in July/Aug will dry it out pretty quickly.
I have packed up and gone to store from the Marais Poitevin (Poitou Charente) .... dew on the outside overnight, but waited till midday, and all was dry.
If it proved to be impossible to dry in time ... we'd return it to the store ... open up for airing ... show the owner how to pack it up ... and he would do it ... he's immensely helpful!

Hi, Ben

The storage is near Angers ...
If you e-mail me at michaelpoynor at hotmail.com, I'll send you the details.

Hi Hedgiemum, this is the main place that sells dandys. They are all 2nd hand. This place is what used to be the factory, they stopped manufacturing in 2008 when the bankers wrecked everything. Now they buy and sell and refurbish, service etc 2nd hand.

They do last for ever and the great thing is you don't need to worry about wet pack ups.
