The velcro that holds the canvas to the camper body on our Sterling is coming off. Hubby has taken the rail off that the velcro is fastened to but what to stick it back on with? Obviously superglue would do it but that means that you could never replace the velcro. It looks like it has been stuck on previously with some sort of double sided tape.
Has anyone else stuck theirs back on? What did you use?
Thanks. On further investigation the velcro is riveted at each end so rather than take it off we have bought some strong double sided tape and will try that first. If this fails then we will buy new velcro but the cost was fairly minimal either way.
I took the aluminium strips of mine, drilled the rivets out and used evo-stick compact adhesive (spread it on the rail and Velcro and wait until it's touch dry before sticking it back on) then put pop rivets back in.
If you haven't got a pop riveter you can pull the Velcro away enough to do the job but scrape off all the old sticky before you put the glue on.
Did mine 2 years ago no problems since.

Thanks, thats what we have done but with heavy duty tape. Looks good, just need to get the rail back on now.
OK ANGEDAWS, when you put the aluminium strips back on it's a good idea to put a little of clear silicon filler (the bathroom stuff) around and in the screw holes. Stops the rain getting in to the camper sides.
