We have a camplet concord but have not yet been on a trip. My question is should I consider booking a HARD STANDING or is it better/easier to stick to GRASS.

Certainly easier, as the Concorde needs pegging out, which can be a nightmare on some hard standings and nigh on impossible on others. Of course, the downside with grass, especially at this time of year is that it can become water logged if the drainage isn't great.

Agree with blue sky, I have pitched our old Chantilly on hard standing and had a nightmare getting both rock pegs and long pegs and plastic pegs to stay in !

Grass is easier but trouble some when water logged, the joys of having to peg out

Thanks for your responses. I kind of thought that would be the case.

We arrived on a CC Club site where after we had booked, heavy rain had closed the tent field. We were offered a hard standing which turned out to be a concrete pad,not a lot of use.Point is,hard standings vary from concrete as mentioned, via astro turf, which is great, down to a bucket of gravel thrown on the mud,but hard standing is better than not camping. Our favourite Club site is hard standing only for trailer tents.

We have Camplet Concorde and always go for grass pitch, but do have a ground sheet(Taupalin)in the awning/kitchen bit to weather it and then put picnic rugs on top to make it toasties for our toes.
