As we're now starting the new season and getting out campers/tt's out, I wonder how many of us have checked the age of our tyres.
Reading on other forums about the age of our tyres and not to exceed the 5 year limit, due to perishing tyres.
Looking at what damage a blow out does to a caravan also is the same as a camper and it's pretty shocking.
So before you head off just check the age and condition as apperently stamped on the tyre. Also check if there's a bulge due to the camper or TT tyre sitting in the same place during winter.

Yes Mr T already posted the same topic having found splits in the tyres and warned folks about the need to do exactly what you and I have said

I replaced ours last year because all though not worn looking closely you could see cracks appearing.

This winter I have had the trailer off the ground on axle stands so no pressure on the suspension or tyres. Also makes it a little harder to nick.

Yep don't think a FC/caravan tyre would ever get replaced due to being worn it would always be due to being perished! Don't forget your spare either!!
I also heard some horror story's about units being ripped apart after a blow out!
P

Most tyres should have the psi on the side wall of the tyre!

I would think that the psi on the side wall would be the maximum - not the recommended pressure for specific applications......
