Hello all,

Invested in a lovely Conway Challenger 1990 Folding Camper. A few questions, which I'm hoping someone might be able to answer:

1. The front of the tent has a small canopy over the door, unfortunately I have no poles for these. Does anyone know where I could find a replacement set?

2. The tent is actually stored at my folks about 30 mins away. I'm trying to sort out a water tank, does anyone know if the inlet/outlet would fit a standard hose connection pipe?

3. I have Fabisil'd the entire tent under recommendation from previous owners. Is there anything else I should be doing? It had sat for about 8 months before I had it out the other day?

Thanks all in advance! :)

From memory there were 3 stub poles that shove into the frame with plastic spikes on then there were 2 poles with a crook in the top that slid into the pocket of the canopy ,,,,

a cheaper option if you cant find them would be to thread some elastic bungee cord (about 10mm diameter and use it to take up the slack to stop it flapping) (as per the newer folding campers

as for water supply at that age i guess you still have a whale manual foot pump system ?

if so you will have an inlet under a gray flap with a outlet next to it

The inlet from memory uses 1/2" inner bore pipe

linky

any standard water bottle will do

linky

just use a length of pipe into the container and work those thigh muscles

for the outlet

need 13.5mm hose iirc

As for what else should you do... if its not been done replace the gas hose to the cooker it goes from rubber in the gas / fridge box to PVC in the locker which then bends 180 degrees every time you pack up and fold the cooker over....

check the tyre age owt over 5 years replace them..

and get the running gear checked by a alko agent (hubs / brakeing system / chassis

NB get the sizes above checked before buying i'd hate to be wrong but often bits get swapped over and adapted by past owners and i dont want you wasting your money :)
