It takes me about 90 seconds to get the main unit up - that's the beauty of a Combi Camp!  Then maybe another 10 minutes to get the awning zipped on and its frame up - maximum of half an hour including pegging the awning out!

Bit longer than that for me, but as Val had a mastectomy some years ago, one arm is quite weak so it's almost one man doing it. We are totally ready within the hour though.

Start to finish, including inners and curtains etc, it takes us about 2 1/2 hours, but that does include 4 metres of awning (in two parts). We do have the option not to put it all up, but if we have it we may as well use it.

It's not a race! Put it up too quickly and you spend the rest of the time away just readjusting things - canvas - velcro - frame.  We do all however have our 'jobs', I'm initial outside with OH and then inside.  Offspring are water carriers and if necessary air bed fillers and bungee elastic securers.  If we are awninging or suncanopying we may be needed, otherwise OH does the rest.

What's the worst bit for everyone?  For me it's getting the zips started on the awning sides etc. - They are either never at the right end or impossible to thread first time.

For OH it's getting the awning canvas straight - also impossible to get tright first time.

Agree with the zips - they can be such a pain. Many a time I have completely despaired. Is there any way of making that easier?

I've heard that rubbing zips with a candle makes them easier, but never tried it myself. I also have access to a large amount of beeswax, does anyone know if that would help?

We have a Conway Century. It takes us roughly half an to put it up including awning for an overnight or weekend stop but when we stop for a time it takes about 45 minutes to put everything up including linings. The first time we put it up it took us close on three hours but then we thought about it, planned it and each time we used it, it became quicker. WE normally only have myslef and my wife. Hope this helps.

At least 21/2 hrs for me to put up my Raclet Hex..Well not put it up...but to get everything in place and working...worst bit is zips between main unit and awning (zips from the top down) To save packing step ladders I hoist my son on to my shoulders and he fiddles with the zip while I put my back outMust qualify the time it takes by saying I do all of it myself apart from the zip...

Jelboy.

I think it takes about an hour to get it all up. Made a lot simpler by leaving the awning zipped to the TT.

The question is, how much longer does it take to pack up. I think about 3 hours minimum is our record from first starting to tidy up to departure time

Tim
