it is with great sadness we are selling our 2013 Conway Crusader. The reason is that we have had "motorhomes" envy for quite a while and have now decided to take the plunge.
We have absolutely loved the FC and want it to go to a good home. Whoever gets it will have a very well looked after FC. On our next trip we plan to take photos so as to advertise it for sale. Can anyone recommend where we should advertise it and how much we might expect to get?? It comes with full awning which has never ever been out of the wrapper.
Thanks in advance

we recently made the switch to a motorhome from a caravan but I have to say the lack of transport on site has been bit of a problem .
We have to pick our sites carefully making sure there is good public transport available .
Have you thought about how you will manage without having a car to use

I've had a few motor homes in the past, and had the same issue. Half an hour packing everything away, just to go out for a paper.

We didn't have ours so much for camping, as it could be a pain. We found them brilliant for day trips more than anything, heading out with a fridge full of food, own facilities etc. That's where they really excelled, but the lack of transport on site did grate a little, after a while.

See the transport side of things would be what could possibly put me off a MH.

XVI yes?

As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.

Ditto ... we were very attracted for a while ... they look fantastic 'toys' (not meaning to be disparaging in any way), the designs can be very clever.
But, after lots of research, and looking at other people's set ups on many campsites, our main considerations were:
1. Far less interior space than an FC ... especially if the awning is added ... most MH's have a roll out verandah style overhead awning cover, not a 'full awning'.
2. As mentioned by Blue Sky ... having to pack up every time you want to go out ... shopping, sightseeing, visits (actually: anything) ... is a major bore.
3. Unless you have a very compact model, the sheer size makes it much more difficult to park, compared to a car. This can be extremely frustrating, especially in towns/cities.
4. Fuel consumption is, generally, considerably higher.
5. Continental motorway tolls put MH's into Class 2, whereas an FC is Class 1.

I still see the attraction as they are wonderful looking ... and, if you are doing the 'one/two day stops' routine, then there's a lot to be said for them.

Best wishes with your plans.

Advertise it here, with plenty of pictures. Ebay takes too big a cut imo,but it is a good indicator of price.

Just sold my Autotrail tracke and bought a folding camper. Biggest problem with MH is Tpt when you get to site and now with the FC its the best of both worlds.

Do you have any particular type of motor home in mind? Don't let people put you off, I'm sure you've looked at all the pro's and cons of a motorhome. Tents, caravans, trailer tents, motorhomes and folding campers all have their pros and cons and we all have different needs/desires throughout our camping lives.......so if that's what you want - go for it!
As for selling, gumtree is free for 28 days and pre loved is also free.
Good luck and keep us posted
Rachel

Must have missed the bit where the op asked for opinions on motorhomes!

Don't think anyone missed that ...
But, if you post that info on this site, you're bound to get sad reactions to anyone migrating to another forum.!
Last ditch effort to keep someone within the fold ...

No worries there,so many people will be ditching motor-homes in favour of folders after reading the above,we will struggle to fit them in.

I advertised my crusader on here as well as preloved, caravan club and caravans for sale. Got plenty of enquiries but it was someone who enquired from ukcampsite that bought it. It was gone within a fortnight!
