I'm stuck! Previous owner damaged the spare wheel carrier, so I bought a new one from Raclet together with two other smaller bracket pieces. Both these pieces are right angled and one has extra holes drilled in the sides. Clearly it needs a bolt of some sort which they didn't tell me about, but how do I assemble it and then fit it?
Hi Popdorset we have solena 2006 bracket same you wlll need 2 bolts to join A to wheel frame sorry i cannot help further as i cannot get under because i have just had a shoulder replacement
Thanks 2Peas, I had another look today and tried to assemble it as you say. I am going to try to photograph it again assembled your way and post it. There seem to be several possible ways it could be done...I thought the small holes at the sides were for a padlock?
Hi again,
Bracket A fits over the wheel frame so a long thin bolt can go through the 2 side plates and the wheel frame (mine is through the bottom hole so holding the wheel higher). The right angle fold faces the rear and fits over the trailers bottom frame so it hangs on.
Bracket B fits from the back with the folded end clamping over the trailer bottom frame. A large bolt then fits through from the trailer rear through B then A and finally the wheel frame. So sandwiching A (which is over the trailer frame) between B and the wheel frame.

these 2 URL's should link to 2 photos, one address in last post as the photos seem not to display.
Sorry 2 Peas, I can't get to your photos using your links. For photos this is what I did...From the Home page, go to "My Account" then "manage my image gallery" and upload a photo.
Now then, have I got the assembly right?? HaHa! I tried to do it your way (I hope) then took two photos. You've been very helpful so far...!
[Edit: not sure if the two new photos will show up here in the thread...may have to click on 'Gallery Images' on the left here, to see them]
That looks right to me. Just needs a second thin bolt at 90 degrees to the other going from one side to the other through one of the 3 holes in bracket A and the one hole in the wheel frame. This bolt will hold them in place and stop your allen key sliding down the slot on the wheel frame.
The 3 photos are now in my image gallery so you should be able to view them.
I understand, thank you very much. I'll do as you suggest.
What's the best place, do you reckon, for a padlock for the spare wheel carrier when touring?
Hi PopDorset we do not have a lock but go to local hardware store Sorry about photos mix up but i had a pal do them for me I am one of the Silver Surfers to texny for me
