Dear Janx & Bungle,
thankyou for your reply's, I have logged onto the website but have been cleaning it all weekend so haven't had much time to have a look on there.
We finally picked it up on Wednesday, so nervous driving it I'm having to plan my journeys so I can park easily (how sad!) I'm sure I shall get used to it - the other half loves it especially now that we gave it a really good clean yesterday, can't wait to pull our TT.
Sorry, I have some more questions to ask - how often do you need to service them, the sister-in-law just said keep it serviced!! and what about the timing chain does this need to be changed regularly. ( I do think this site is great there is always someone that will help you out, thankyou)

Hi Rusty Jen,
I run the nissan 4x4 owners club UK, you will be glad to know that the Terrano/ mistral(jap import Terrano) or the maverick do not have a timing chain, they have gears that should last the life of the vehicle if not longer,
you will be pleased with the vehicle, but there are some niggly faults they suffer, but if you have already viewed my web site and club, you will see that most of these are cheap and easily fixed even by the average motorist diy owner,
just to let you know i have just come back from a weekend away at another club members where a few of the members met up for a bbq and some beers, also to view spalding flower parade,
240 mile round trip for me with my Nissan Mistral 2.7TD 1995 Auto lwb, towing a Bessacarr cameo 550gl 1994 twin axel (23ft) no problems at all.
don't hesitate to ask anything before taking it to the garage should you need to !!!
great site this by the way.

------------- What goes up must come down, so make sure it's in a Nissan

Thanks Shark1e
I have visited your web site and found it very interesting - we had our maiden voyage towing at the weekend (after a bad day Friday, having only has the Terrano 11 days I woke to find that someone had smashed the passenger window and took the radio cassette - it wasn't even a decent one!! hoever £60 later and a trip to Tamworth we picked the little one up from school and headed off)
Russ said the only danger was that he didn't know he was towing and the four wheel drive came in handy getting back off the field yesterday. Are there many meetings/rallies that your club runs, (I notice your from Walsall anywhere near to Aldridge? As we have never owned a diesel it is reassuring to speak to and meet others, someone has told me to take a look at Susie Q for spares as we need a casing for the driver seat and the panel on the inside of the back door is a little scratched.
Although my dad saw it on Sunday and he said he was quite impressed, which was my seal of approval, just hope nothing to major goes wrong as I tend to be something of a worrier! and don't want people saying you shouldn't have changed your Fiesta for it.
Thankyou again for your advice
Jenny
