Hi ..... well the last month or so has been a rollercoaster for us. We lost my wonderful, gorgeous sister-in-law suddenly,a few weeks back. Which knocked us all for six.

Then today I found out that I have got the job I was after.... its just the perfect job for me and Im very excited.

Anyway.... all of this has meant that I haven't got round to sewing the zip on the awning. But now we have a time limit as I will have to go away to train for my new job at the end of July. And we were hoping to get away for a few days whilst we still can...as I will be away for pretty much the rest of summer.

So Im going to do the zip this week...no really..I am. And that brings me to the whole point of this thread (boom boom ) What thread do I use ..is there a special type ? because normal thread seems a bit weak to me.

-------------
Cheers ..... Chris

I did a lot of repairs to my Outwell Concorde (ex display, so needed them), and I used this, which is very hench and comes in lots of colours. My mum in law recommended it, as she's a very competent needlewomen. It won't get stuck in the fabric, or tangle during in use, but if you're sewing a polycotton tent, you may need stronger needles. Hope this helps.

Have a read here:
Button thread
Think it covers most questions you might have and it's what I've used on canvas in the past.

Depends on what your machine can handle V69 / v92 Bonded polyester UVR antiwick thread, resists UV & with the right size needle the stitches wont leak.

I use sail makers thread and needles. Pull it through with pliers.
