My wife & I are thinking seriously about buying a folding camper & are taken with the Combi Camp venezia.I have also been looking at the Comanche Montana. This is to be used for weekending & travelling the backroads on the west of the country. As we are new to buying such things I would be grateful if we could get a few hints from the more experienced (nearly said old)hands out there.
we really love our venezia this is our 3rd year with it - -you can set it up in about 5 mins max and it's so comfortable we have used it in cold windy weather in north of scotland and really hot weather in south of france and the comfort levels are just the same and you can tour really easily - first trip we had 5 different stops in france and 2 in UK
. We looked at the comanche and although it's much cheaper ad smaller - it didnt seem to have the same quality of bed arrangements and the kitchen wasnt included - the kitchen in the venzia is very good and you can run the fridge while you are driving - so when you stop for lunch you can just fish it out the back ,,, but then maybe I 'm not giving the objective view as I just cant wait to get in it again..
We've got a Panda and I agree with everything cate said. They're brilliant, wouldn't want anything else. Quick and easy to put up, fabulous to tow, easy to store, have comfy beds, kitchen's got all you need. Our three kids love it too. Recommend it warmly. We've been to Spain, Croatia, france, all over with it. Go for it!
We've got an earlier Combi-Camp than dotty or cate, but would re-iterate their commnets. I love how quick they are to pitch the main cabin (and to pack it away at the end of a stay)
Thanks for all your replies.Looks like the wife was right again! Next question. The only agent I can find for Combi-Camp is away down near London. Do any of you know if it is possible to find an agent in Scotland or failing that if anyone in Scotland has a Venezia would you be willing to let me come & have a look at said beast? Like the forum by the way you seem like a friendly bunch of folks.
Sorry Sawman ...... can't help ya with Scotland dealers ... but where did you find the London one .... as thats my way and would like to have a look .... cheers
Cas. Its not exactly London but might as well be when you live up here in Scotland! The Address.MangineLtd,Red Roof, Chinnor Road, Thame, OX9 3RF, Tel01844 215 900, Fax 01844 216 141, email combicamp at aol.com
we got ours in Duncans in wishaw I think they got ir from Mangines - but I think duncans have stopped doing them - but the staff are very helpful there and could tell you all about them - camperlands in Manchester had some last year - but again -think they dont have any now as they dont advertise them. theres another company in aberdeen - turrif I think - mangines have used ones
I am looking for a second hand Combi at the momemt and have placed a "wanted ad" on UKCS. One of the replies I have had is not what I am looking for but it may be of interest to you. It is from Kendal Camping Centre (01539 732793). They have a second hand Combi Camp Venezia 4 berth in green with awning , full kitchen and spare wheel. It is 2 years old, immaculate and they are asking £3300 for it.
