I have just looked at a camp-let trailer tent
trailer in good condition as with the canvas cover.
Been well looked after and very little use.
It is approx 35years old and has the same
opening up system as the modern ones.It really is in very good condition plus lots of extra fittings.
Anybody got a suggested price for it or would it be best
left alone.

Have a very good look at the canvas when erected. If there are any signs of mildew, either current or old, walk away.

A price would be in region of £100

I'm afraid I am going to have to disagree with that. Can't remember the last time I same a trailer tent or folding camper of 20 years old or more that didn't have some signs of mildew on it, so I wouldn't treat that as a major concern. It is very easy to treat, but not remove completely, so, if it is too unsightly, maybe best to avoid, but, if covered by bed pods etc, I wouldn't worry too much. Mine had quite a bit of staining on the interior (not visible from the outside) when bought it, but it isn't visible with the bed pods, roof liner etc in place, so not an issue for me.

I'm also going to have to disagree on the price, I'm afraid. Camplets are highly sought after, even the older ones, and, if it's in good condition, I can't see it going for £100 (if it does, I would snap their hand off!!). More realistic would be closer to £300 for a good example, even at that age. Definitely wouldn't go above £400, and it would have to be exceptional for that but anything below £300 and I would say you've not done too badly.

Thank you for your advice on the price to pay for the
camp-let. There are lots of extras with the unit
so have offered £450 but l dont think they will take
it as they were asking 3 times more.I will see if they
accept my offer. If not will look for a 4 berth trailer similar.

thanks Again
Murrie.

£450 is sensible with extras. 3 times that is dreaming, at that age, even for a Camplet. If they don't accept, I would look elsewhere.

They will need it at that price. Most folding campers from 1980 would struggle to achieve the price they are asking, let alone a TT, especially at this time of year, as we are approaching the end of the season.

You're best off looking for something more sensibly priced.

Try Googling; "Choosing a folding camper or trailer tent, what are the options?" Should give you a few ideas.

Yes that site is very helpful.
