Hello, has anyone removed the coupling head bit at the end of the A frame to replace? In order for the braked trailer tent we want to buy to fit in our garage we need to shorten it by 6cm! So the bit that is bolted on can it be easily and safely removed for storage? I know you can buy replacement coupling heads so I guess it must be possible. Thanks for any tips.

Take a look on "you tube" type in something like "fitting an alko tow hitch" it shows you how to take the hitch off.
Undo the 2 horizonal bolts to remove hitch. Rear bolt also retains hitch damper so remove front bolt first and as you withdraw rear bolt remove hitch and insert screwdriver through hole in draw tube ensuring it goes through damper eye. Store trailer with screwdriver in place and when you replace hitch ensure rear bolt goes through damper eye.
Ooh that's a really good idea. I don't know. We are picking it up on Saturday if we are happy with the condition so we will try it. Hadn't thought of that but it does make sense thanks!
Yes we did. It's ace. It was about 2cm too long to fit and caused much entertainment with those watching us try. In the end we took the door off the back of the garage and turned it so it sits on the other side of the door frame opening the other way and it fits!!! Just!
