Hi there have been to look at a Conway Cruiser trailer tent is in great condition but do t know the age as person has no paperwork was wondering if there was a way to find out how old it is and also if there is any common problems these trailer tents have to watch out for as I've never brought a trailer tent before. Thanks
Just for your information the Cruiser is a folding camper, not a trailer tent. But finding the date should be the same for both, there will be a plate somewhere with the weight (unloaded and max loaded), model and serial no on it somewhere. Last two digits are the year it was made. Which might not be exactly the same date as it was first sold new, remember, so don't worry too much if the previous owners are out by a year.
As Val says; it's a folding camper, not a trailer tent, and your best bet is to Google; "Used folding camper buyers guide" which will give you all the info you need. Conway aren't as consistent as Pennine. Some had the date stamped on the plate on chassis, on others it was the last 2 digits of the serial no (like Pennine) and others it was the first two digits. The Cruiser was the longest running of the Conway models and was in production for over 30 years, so difficult to be specific without a rough idea. If you have any pictures I could tell you to within a year or two.
