Hi all
We've an old Camplet Concorde and wonder if anyone knows the size of groundsheet needed (short of unpacking it all and setting it up!)

Also wondering if there is a bucket type groundsheet available to keep the rain out?

Hi, Camperlands price list says they do a camplet bucket groundsheet for £169, or £235 with the fleece carpet. There is an inflatable bucket groundsheet for £215 or with fleeced awning carpet for £250. They also do breathable nylon groundsheet £58, breathable pic groundsheet £72. Size is 2.5x4. Might be worth ringing them 0161-902-3020

We bought a PVC groundsheet with inflatable edges after an unscheduled water feature appeared during heavy rain! The raised edges keep the water out and help to stop draughts. It is a Kampa Stay Dry Awning Water Guard - 2.5 x 3.9m and we got it mail order from www.outdoorleisurestore.co.uk who were really helpful. It was about £80 including delivery. It's quite a good fit with just a couple of inches short on the width.

You will need to put tarpaulins down if you're on hard-standing as the stones can cut the PVC.

I really like the look of the kampa awning guard. We have a camplet bucket groundsheet and it is the only part of our camping set up that I am really unhappy with. In my opinion it is very expensive and not particularly good.
It takes ages to position and even ten I don't feel it particularly fits well and doesn't stay up, so if we have heavy rain we always end up with a bit in the tent. The inflatable sides sound a very good solution and if it is slightly smaller than the tent it should be easy to fit.
Any idea roughly what height the tubes are and how do you blow them up?
Thanks you.

The tubes are about 2-3 inches tall when inflated. There is a valve for each tube and these are paired in two corners of the ground sheet. The intention is that any water flows around or under the sheet rather than into the tent. I usually blow them up by mouth but an airbed or paddling pool inflator or a footpump would probably be easier and save me going purple!

The 3.9 x 2.5m is the measurement inside the tubes, there is a narrow skirt on the outside of these with holes to peg it down. Hope this helps.

We have a Kampa Stay Dry Awning Water Guard which we only used once as we changed our unit rather unexpectedly.

I keep meaning to put it on the "for sale" boards here.

If anyone is interested I am happy to sell it for £30 plus postage (or delivery costs). It's a reasonably substantial item, and therefore may cost a bit in postage. Or it can be collected from the East Midlands

Hi ruby I would be interested if it is the 2.4 by 3.9. Can you weight it then we could look into postage/couriers?

I've not had much luck in weighing it, as it was too heavy for the kitchen scales but not heavy enough for the bathroom scales!

However, one description online suggests its approx 4.5 kg, which seems about right to me

Hi Rubys Girls. I had a look at parcel2go.com and there are a few courier options on there where you can arrange to drop the parcel in to a shop (collect+, my hermes)and it looks like the courier charge is £5 (worth adding the £1 extra for insurance incase item goes missing). I think you would need to work out how you are going to wrap the groundsheet so you have rough dimensions, and then you can go onto the website and get exact figure. You book the parcel in online and then print off your address label and hand into the shop. I think your weight guess sounds right, only other suggestion is to stand on a set of scales on your own, then stand on again with your parcel - and compare the difference!

If you have an ebay account it would be most convenient to me if we could agree a fixed price on ebay. You can message me when you put the listing on as a buy it now (e.g call it something like "for mrsmcwilliam" and then I will go on a buy it and pay via paypal. For the buy it now price you would include the amount we have agreed for the groundsheet, the courier amount. There will also be sellers fees via ebay, perhaps we could split them - it gives us both a bit of security so worth doing I hope you agree. Anyway, if you want to go ahead at some point, probably easiest to drop me an email to mrsmcwilliamathotmail.com I am not in any massive rush so don't panic!
