Some will probably remember me asking here about different brands of trailer tents. At the end we decided to buy a brand that is the most supported in our country and that is Camp-let.
We went for 2015 Classic model which had a reduced price + we got a special edition version so Classic tent is set in Premium trailer, has alloy wheels and Premium kitchen! We went with "Living" sun canopy for the front too, extra storage case in front and couple other things.
I made a payment today so we will pick it up in couple weeks. I know winter is coming but i hope we will be able to open it on a sunny weekend for a test.
Now questions about extra equipment:
- what do you use for light? I can't decide between gas, 220v, 12v, battery powered LED, petrolium lamps etc...? I think we will need one for inside, one for outside and one for reading - bedtime.
- what do you use to fight off mosquitos and other bugs? Anything really effective like special zap lights, candles,..?
Any MUST HAVE equipment for trailer tents that new guy doesn't think about?
Electric hook up is great, you can use normal lights, plug in a cooler, charge phones etc, it does make for a comfortable trip. However it's a good idea to be able to cope without the hook up so you aren't tied to sites with electricity. So we have battery lanterns, and a three way fridge which will run on gas, the fridge is a new thing for us because it's built in, previously we had an electric cool box and also a good traditional one.
If you're not using hookup then we have a leisure battery powering a light for the awning. Had it for ages and now would replace with a battery-operated LED light. In the bedroom we have a solar-powered light from Ikea.
Best bug deterrent we've used this year is super cheap outdoor citronella incense sticks. They really smell foul but keep the little blighters away.
Congratulations, i'm sure you'll love yours like I love mine. We use a bulkhead type electric light attached to the centre pole in our camplet and I have a solar lantern from Ikea for reading in bed. It lasts ages and i've had it years and is still going strong.
