Can anyone advise what they do about a fridge with their trailer tent ? We have a Cabanon Neptune and were going to use a 12volt "cool box" we got years ago. But, I understand that these will only cool relative to the ambient outside temperature..

So, looking for a compact and lightweight solution that would hopefully store and be transported in the trailer while folded.

:)

Usual fridge is free standing 3way such as Dometic RC1200, allows you to run on gas or ehu, several similar models available all with much the same dimensions. Otherwise look at Waeco Coolfreeze, compressor fridges, electric only so only for ehu or 12v & expensive. Cheap solution if you are on ehu is small domestic compressor fridge from Argos, etc, £70 or so.

We use a Logic table top (from Curry's), 70L .... for the past six years. About £100 new ... but you will find used ones on e-bay and gumtree et al, much more cheaply.

Waeco CF range of portable fridges would suit, various sizes from 18lt upwards.

We found the Waeco CF25 perfect for the 1000 mile journey to the Med, and for days out, although more capacity was needed for our fortnight campings, so after 5 years use we added a Mobicool C40 to the kit list.

Of course for a 12/24v capability it's going to cost.

If you can manage with mains only, you could use a Table top fridge. Maybe £70 or so.

We found the Mobicool C40 (not B40) ideal, the C40 works just the same as a domestic fridge, but is designed for portable use.

Available from Obelink in Holland, £140 inc delivery to UK.

We have a standard household table top fridge that we use when on ehu and we also have a dometic 3 way that we take when we aren't sure of the ehu....

both work well.....we also have a small household freezer that we take with us for longer trips.

We have a mobicool 12v which travels in the car, and when pitched we use an adaptor which 12v plugs into and then converts to normal 3 pin plug EHU in trailer.

(Do I mean transformer) it can be bought from Halfords.

We have no problems with keeping things cold in the mobicool, the food isn't in there long enough! This is a back up now we have fridge in FC. Always take the mobicool and use it, sometimes have to turn it off overnight as it almost freezes things.
