Hi can anyone give me advice on what to do to safe guard my lesuire battery through the winter.
I have a Pennine Sterling should I leave it in or take it out.

It largely depends on where you store it. Most leisure batteries will slowly lose their charge over prolonged periods, even if not connected to the 12V system. The recommended period for charging them is every 2 months. I also have a Sterling. At the moment it's on my drive, so I can charge it via the electric hookup, but, when I put it back in to storage, I will probably take the battery out and charge it in my garage every so often. If stored outside, you can also use a small solar trickle charger. These aren't great, but they should do the job, to prevent it running low enough to cause permanent damage.

Must admit I never took ours out or put it on charge in the Winter months, even though the camper was in the back garden. Never seemed to do it any harm.

The best option wold be to use a 'Smart Charger', these will keep your battery at a state of readiness whilst not being 'on' the whole time.  Ctek are a very good manufacturer of these but if you keep an eye out Lidl also do one from time to time (this is the one I have, it is aleways connected to my battery and I have never had a problem).

 

You could also look on that famous online auction where you will more than likely pick up one of the Lidl versions.
