I have an old Pennine Clubman that I am renovating. I am lucky that the main canopy canvas is in quite good condition however it does not have the zip on it to attach an awning. furthermore, I do not have an awning to attach.
One idea is to use a tunnel tent I have as the awning. the entire front of the tent completely zips off so it would be a nice clean fit onto the awning.
I just need a little help and advice on the best way to attach the tent/awning to the canvas. I have the zip from the front panel of the tent but not sure on the best way to attach it to the main canopy canvas.
Sorry this is a bit long winded but just wanted to paint the picture.
For most of us its a fairly easy DIY job to buy an awning (we have a Suncamp Swift) and attach a zip using a standard sewing machine. However if your camper doesnt have the zip attached to the main canvas body then this is going to be much more tricky.
I think that as Newday says you would be best speaking to someone like TVS. One thing that did occur to me, if you are thinking about attaching a tunnel tent to the camper you need to check measurements. I doubt that most tents would be tall enough but I may be wrong.
Thanks for your help on this, very much appreciated. I have been offered the main canvas from a Pennine Pullman that I believe is the same measurements as a clubman (with an awning zip) so I may go down that route instead and try to recoup some money by selling the old one.
