Hi Sis .

Sorry to hear your bad news .I think most of us have been guilty at some time or other when it comes to security.

Our friends had their van stolen last week from the same place where we keep ours.At that time i only had a hitchlock fitted as i thought "it will be safe here".

Needless to say i was wrong .Since last week i have changed my idea and bought a new wheel lock and  2 corner steady locks and i`m in the process of looking at some type of ground anchor to chain it to as well.

It`s easier to do these things than to have to replace all the extra things as well and also the fact that it`s the thought that some robbing  has decided they want your property .

The van next to our camper has no locks and yet they stole our friends parked across from ours with 2 locks on .

The only good thing to come out of this is that others will take alittle more care over security as we are all guilty of thinking "it won`t happen to us".

If we all check our local papers and keep our eyes open looking for your camper at various places you may be lucky ,but my guess is you won`t see it again .

I hope you and your family get it all sorted soon and get back camping and enjoying yourselves...........

.....................Alan.................

Sorry to hear about the loss of your unit Sis...and of course everyone will be keeping an eye on their local ads as well as national ads like Ebay..Security is an issue for us all...and is dependant on our own circumstances...Im fortunate that I have a garage/lock up to store my TT in....This garage is out of sight from my house and I some times worry that its not secure enough to deter theives....and do get a bit paranoid when I have to take the TT out of the garage to do some work on it (pack/unpack etc) As I reckon this is a prime time for some of the lowlife round our way to "case" the job so to speak...This passion with security was fired 2 yrs ago when a neighbour brought his 1st timer van home from storage for preperation for their 1st holiday in it...Loaded it up on the Fri night for a quick getaway came down on Sat morn to find van and all their posessions gone..From the reaction of this family I can guess some of what you are going through..so of course will watch out for a unit fitting the description you gave...even as far away as Cumbernauld...you never know it might turn up...Hope you get back on your feet camping wise...and are soon able to enjoy the pastime again..

Jelboy.

So sorry to hear - many commiserations. Do you have a note of the serial number and date to be found  on the plate at front left by the A frame? Ours is a 2002 model and we had to give our insurers the model and serial number so you may have a record of it.

Ours will probably go on sale on ebay soon too as have a Conway cruiser now. We have had our only family hols in the TT and it was so good for 5 adults.

Wish you luck and hope you recover it. We had an attempted breakin to our garage last weekend while we were all in bed. Next door's dog scared them off but I wondered if they were after the cruiser that had been on the drive a week before. Needless to say everything in garage is strung together and locked and we have as much security as poss on both TT and cruiser.
