Hi we are going for our first trailer tent after owning very large tents in the past, I like the idea of anything being packed up ready to just go off for weekend

We have 2 children and 2 dogs and I have seen locally either
2011 trigano olympe used 3 times for 2200, or 2015 camplet basic plus with sun canopy for 4500.

Has anyone experience of either of these tents ? The trigano looks bigger but camplet looks easier to put up.

We would be going for lots of weekends and the odd week

I have also seen you can get a new sunncamp for about 3k but am struggling finding decent info

Couple of questions:

How old are your children and will they be happy sharing a bedroom for several years?

How big are your dogs?

If you've got 2 kids who can share one bedroom and 2 small dogs the Camplet would be perfect. If you've not then it might be a bit of a squeeze when it's raining and you're all sitting inside. If you went down the route of getting a bedroom annexe and front extension you may aswell get the cheaper Trigano as it would take you longer to put up.

We have just bought an Olympe as we have three children but prior to this we owned a Trigano Odyssee which may suit you. We had the annexe as we have a boy and a girl who were too old to share. The Odyssee like the Olympe has a Zipped in Groundsheet which may be better with dogs. We looked at the camplet but for us it was too small even with the annexe and not worth the additional cost. I could never work out why it was worth so much more money and we were really happy with the Odyssee. Can't wait to be able to camp overnight in the Olympe- so far we've only had it up on the drive.

The camplet will not be big enough we felt it was suitable for 2 and a tight squeeze with the 2 kids . The Olympe will be huge but at that price worth a go and if it doesn't suit you , will probably loose you less than the camplet .

If you want a really big trailer tent that is easy to put up, look for a Raclet Safari! It is wider than most trailer tents, giving two fully slatted king size beds. There is room for extra bedrooms under both of these. The living area is also massive (much bigger than the Olympe) and has a zipped in ground sheet. We had the sun canopy which could be zipped straight to the cabin if needed for an overnighter or attached to the main cabinet n to give shelter from the rain as well as the sun!!
We loved ours, and were sad to have to sell it last year due to health reasons.
If you look on Utube you can find a video demonstrating how it goes up.
We got ours from Black Country Camping near Birmingham. Chris is very helpful if you have questions.

Better a rainy day in a tent than a sunny day in the office!
