My vin plate on my pathfinder tells me chassis number but not the year why is this? it was bought as a 2005 always insured as a 2005 but can't see this on the vin plate

apparently on Pennines the last two digits on the chasis plate relates to the year of manufacture

Are you reading the AL-KO chassis number? If it's imprinted into the chassis, itself, that's the AL-KO number, not the Pennine number. There should be a plate riveted onto the A frame, at the front, on the door side. It should contain two numbers; Gross weight and serial no. The latter will be four digits, a space and two digits (the year). If that plate isn't obvious, it has probably been removed.

I can't find my vin plate either but I found all the relevant information on the pre delivery sheet that was tucked into the handbook.

4 digits on the plate but no space and no 2 digits for year??? Plate looks untouched and the last digit is 5 so that's why we no it as 2005 ???

Yes the gross weight is there. I have been on to pennine about it. Seems there is quite a few mix ups with the years and stampings
