So the wife is towing away lovely through a quaint Hampshire village and the RH tyre goes, she brought it to a stop quickly and we even recopvered the debris. It was quite stiff to unbolt the wrecked tyre but we did it and even managed to source a new one whilst in teh New Forest without too much bother.
The good news: The wheel rim was fine and no one was hurt, Hampshire viullage free of tyre debris.
The bad news, despite the fact we must have driven 25m before stopping, that was enough time for the shredded tyre to rip through the flimsy wheel arch plastic and create a large enough hole that when we arrived at the campsite we discovered our cutlery was covered in dirt and a few plastic glasses wrecked, it also took out the whale pump connector.
The tyre was approaching if not past its life so lesson learned, keep those tyres fresh. The other good news is, the repair of a rubber duck covered bath mat and some gaffa tape held up for the return journey!
Any tips for removing the rubber marks around the outside of the wheel arch? Or am I destined to have a reminder, no great shakes.
