Our 2003 Fiesta had vinyl flooring that looked exactly like laminate, but not sure about the real thing, isn't it prone to absorbing any moisture? I know it's not really recommended for kitchens and bathrooms, although people do use it.
Replacing carpet with laminate flooring has been discussed a lot in the caravan forum. General consensus of opinion is that it would be too heavy and therefore eat into the allowable payload. This would probably apply to Campers as well. "Marley Tile" "Lino" "Cushion floor" type stuff would be better, and you can get some very real looking wood or tile patterns nowadays.

If you can't see the light at the end of the tunnel, just keep going till you go round the bend.
You can use laminate flooring but you must use underlay with a plastic backing and if you use a glueless type (such as click) then you must ensure that the joints are sealed with a moisture protector such as clickguard. But as Caz pointed out this will add weight to your camper.

Really pleased you decided to keep it and give the camper a chance.
I bought a cheap ethnic mat type thing and put this across the entrance after the foot well. This takes all the grot and can be shaken as necessary. We also have 'shoes off' policy for wet weather - difficult with a dog a grant you! The shoes also live on the mat if it's too wet to leave them outside.
The carpet is not that difficult to clean, some of the spray on carpet shampoo and a good vac and Hey Presto! Only needed to do it once in 4 years.
Zippy's carpet got pretty mucky last time out (it was raining, to put is mildly, when we arrived, and carried on till about 2 in the morning - the field was muddy!!), but once it had dried (I stuck it outside in the sun on Sunday morning), it brushed clean with my Mum's wonderful rubber-bristled brush. I must try to find one of those, but failing that, I think any stiff brush will do it, once it's dry. The carpets will probably clean really well with a carpet cleaner at the end of the season too - that's what I intend to do with them.
you can get floor tiles (lino) that look exactly like laminate flooring from most diy s shops for a folding camper it would only cost about 20 quid max my sister has these in the hallway at home its been down for a year now and still looks good.
The floor on my TT is lino type material...A bit scratched and torn in places from loading/unloading etc...When I get round to replacing it...it will be with the same type of stuff...as this is easy to clean etc..would have thought laminate would not stand up to the rigours of camping trips..and as said would add to the payload of your camper..

If you have a loose fit carpet, take it up in muddy weather, put it in the boot of your car. Its easier to wipe the lino over if it gets muddy. Thats the joy of loose fit (we won't talk about all the grass that gets in round the edges, lol!!).
Zippy's carpets are loose, Rizzo, but as the field was already muddy, the carpets were pretty mucky by the time I had unloaded all the stuff from the floor of the trailer so I could get to them! By then, there didn't seem much point in taking them up, so I left them in and just dried and brushed them when the weather improved - they look fine now.
