Hi all, My wife and I are considering purchasing a folding camper soon. However, there are many things to consider before we make the move from camping (in a 5 berth Outwell with all the mod cons etc., We are in our early sixties). One Question that has cropped up is if you cook a curry or a fish dish on the built in cooker does the bedding/ curtains etc., still retain that aroma! Walk down stairs the morning after cooking strong dishes in a HOUSE and it still hits you!!
Thanks for your replies
Plenty of air going through the camper, however I have never liked cooking in the FC and set up an electric oven in the awning, together with kettle. More space and no cooking smells even if we have curry.
we barbque outside, using a MarcO grill which also does the cooked breakfast.
I Buy ready meals for two and cook in oven, make salads and eat lots of cheese and biscuits. I don't do full on meals like home, it's no holiday for me!
There are only two of us, mid 60 and mid 80. We love our FC
We tend to cook in the porch awning too, mainly because there is a bit more space. I have a camp kitchen with electric hob and oven and slow cooker. Never had a problem with cooking smells.
I always used the cooker in the camper when it wasn't warm enough to barbecue...no problems with smells...it was too draughty for that. I still use the cooker inside the caravan, which isn't at all draughty and there's no lingering smells.

Same here, no unpleasant smells, even now in the tin top

I hate food smells and am particularly intolerant of them but have never noticed the smell of bacon and the like lingering in our FC. We've never had curry in it though.
