have a look at netto on monday they are selling a plastic garden box with a lid for £24.99 it seems quite tough, if you got that you could mount that on your A frame using ;U; bolts and wing nuts, so on arrival you can get it of easily and us it as a table or extra storage inside.

A lot of people have mentioned the B&Q Deluxe garden box. £40ish

We've just picked one up for ours.

Looked at the normal garden box,but was very wimpy looking.

Dawn+Dave, the £29 was the one we looked at first, when it wass together it was flexing and wobbling everywhere so took it back aned swapped it for the moulded one.

thats the same box i bought for my sunncamp ( when i had it) three years ago but never did fit it, only mine is beige with a green lid with garden things in now.

does it restrict the turning circle ? as i always did wonder if it would do because of the size .

Hi keiron, Been ok with turning round corners.Have never really tried a hard lock when turning, I suppose it would also depend on the cars turning circle.

We drove all the way to scotland with it in Sept last year without any difficulty.

Tom.

Hi we have just copied your idea for a storage box after being quoted £170 for one in the local camping shop and its brilliant.

But can you tell us did you bolt the sides of the box to the plywood in the base of the box or is it strong enough with just the u bolts to the trailer.

Thanks Julie

Hubby bumped his car this way.  Measure the draw bar from the hitch to the box and make sure that it is still longer than half the width of your car.  On return he extended the drawbar to make sure that it did not happen again.  (He is a welder)  It would not be expensive to have done.

Henning - He did not weld it. I just mean that he knows a fair bit about metal and its stress points/weaknesses.  Nice to hear from you again!
