We are interested in getting a trailer tent but intend to use it mainly for weekends away. I was looking at some campsites and noticed that you have to vacate your pitch by 10 or 11 a.m. If we want to make the most of the weekend we won't want to go home Sunday morning. So what would we do with the trailer tent as you wouldn't be able to park your car anywhere with it in tow. Could any trailer tent owners give any tips?
Although sites say to leave by certain times most will allow you to stop on a while if you ask providing the pitch is not already booked, or the site may allow you to pack and leave the trailer on site while you go and enjoy your day, or you could pay for the Sunday night too then you can leave whenever you wish.
Whatever you choose camping is great fun and I hope you enjoy it
------------- its our imperfections that makes us perfect
Join the camping and caravan club and go to weekend meets with your local district association. Usually no electric hook up so you will rely on battery and LPG cylinders. A loo tent and a ports potty of sorts is also essential. Real survival camping but in convivial company with lots of kids for your own to make friends with.
Did this for 25 years and had a great time every weekend from Easter to Bonfire night. Club run holiday sites a great bargain
We usually ask the site managers if we can leave the packed up trailer in the site car park (with hitchlock) whilst we have a day out then pick it up later on. We have never had a problem with this.

I've not had a problem asking the site if I can leave trailer in the car park for the day, though most of the time we have a long drive home so glad to get away early!
PS. Selling our trailer tent if you're interested!
