Has anyone else noticed that under the mattresses after a good sleep the boards are slightly damp. Even with the protective plastic sheeting on it still persists. We always air the mattress by propping them up on the metal seat backs to help out.
It would be nice to hear if anyone else has this problem.
This subject has come up several times, I have posted about it in the past. We have the same problems especially in cooler conditions. It seems that the general consensus is that it is better to roll the plastic sheets back to the side as they are there for a wet pack up rather than using under the mattresses. We tried the foil backed foam camping mats under the mattresses last time and it did seem to make a difference and the only damp was where there was a gap between the two mats. That said the weather was much warmer so not such a great difference between the warmth inside and the outside temperature which is what causes the condensation. We have considered buying they 'drymat' which is a marine item for use under beds with solid base boards.it is expensive though and that is why we are trying the camping mats first. It is a nuisence though as we also have been propping up the mattresses each day.

I'd try cheap camping mats before doing anything else, I've used them in several units over the years and they've always reduced the problem considerably
Hi Eddy. We've noticed that when you get dry, warm & sunny weather this doesn't seem to be a prob, but unfortunately this is not the case most of the time in this country. Following a thread on here we've tried cheap camping insulation mats between the mattress & board which did help a bit, although you still need to prop the mattress up each morning to air otherwise the condensation still builds up. We also have the f/c well ventilated if weather permits. Would be interested to know if this happens still with the newer models that have a coating on the underside of the board. I've never used sleeping bags in the F/C though, so might try that out next when we go in a couple of weeks
Ours is a 2011 model and the boards are coated and it still gets condensation. The weather definately affects how bad it is. We also have the bed skirts both sides which makes no difference. The marine drymat for this problem is so expensive and the reviews not always favourable so not sure about risking paying out so much if it may not help. Such a pain having to prop mattresses each morning and a problem if have to leave site by 10am as not time for them to dry out properly.

I have just bought some of the dry mat type underlay, see my posts on the thread further down about mattress underlay, I will update once I have had a chance to use it.
