Going to Thorpe, near Burnsall (Yorkshire) Friday till Monday.  I have Friday off work, and SacmpisOH is intending finishing work at lunchtime, so we'll be off as soon as Little Scamp finishes school.  Can't wait!

Certainly am - my old camping mates!!!  Got a few 'old friends' to catch up with - not seen most of them since I had to stop camping ten years ago, and some of them don't know about Zippy, so there could be some surprised faces!

Right - I started camping with my Mum and Dad (Jean and Peter - Dad was on the YRTTG committe for years, and was National TTG Chairman when the constitution changed and it became TTFCG) when I was about 12 or 13.  I spent my 'Youth' years with Stan and Avril as Youth Leaders and their son, Andy, as our Assistant Youth Leader and chief mischief-maker, doing his best to pretend he was a good influence on the test of us (me, his sister, Mandy, and her now husband, Mo)!!!  I left the CCY when I married in 1989 (Dave - since divorced) - we got a Conway Challenger (burgundy one) at the same time as Mum and Dad got a Cardinal.  Then we upgraded to a Cruiser (brown and cream one), which I had until I had to stop camping after I got divorced in 1994/5.  Oh, yes - my name is actually Jill, and I have a daughter, Penny, who is now 13 and took her first steps at the TTG Birthday Meet just outside Blackpool in 1993, an event videoed by Val and Bea Beeston!  Now I have told you my life story - do I know you?!!!

Got it in one !!! (it's Mo by the way - internet access at work is great !) - as you will realise the first line of your life story gave it away ! - how bizarre is that , certainly would have been a surprise - didn't realise you were back camping again - better make sure we've plenty of beers for catching up time ! - as you can see we've gone to the 'dark side' with the tin tent , realised at Easter last year that with the kids growing up (8 & 10 now) we were falling over each other in the Pullman and getting fed up feeling a bit cold / damp / packing up wet - we were about the last to give in after 12 years so not done too bad !

This is FANTASTIC (as is internect access at work!!) - I can't believe you didn't know we'd got the Pathfinder - I saw Stan and Avril at both Earl's Court (getting show prices) and the NEC (bought it, got it, made it fit in the garage!!), so they've kept quiet!  Andy decided late last summer he could probably cope with camping in a Pathfinder (who couldn't), so here I am!  REALLY looking forward to Friday now, more so than I was before - Scampi all excited!!!!  I'll make sure we have plenty of beer - there's a lot of laughter to catch up on (poor Andy won't know what's hit him).  We'll have to take a can down to the river-side and have a drink sitting on the rocks, just for old-time's sake.

There's always a chance they've told Mandy and she's not passed it on (as usual !!) - I'll check tonight , actually working in Sheffield today - off to Mum & Dad's for tea and to sort out their PC and new DVD player ! - Chris gone off today with school to Howarth for 3 days (1st time away) due back at half four Friday - so probably be getting on for 7ish before we get there - will let Mandy know you're coming - or I might just leave it and wait to see the look on her face !! Downside to caravan is not storing at home , but got it at Fallwood Marina - only 10 mins away so not too bad - also not looking forward to the entrance being a bit tight at Thorpe - probably just close my eyes and hope for the best !!

Fallwood Marina is just down the hill form us - we are in Bramley!  Don't say the entrance at Thorpe is tight - Andy reads this forum and he'll moan!  He likes the Pathfinder, but hasn't quite go his head round the idea of sitting outside when you need a coat on, and tight gates that threaten scratches on his 'baby' (the flippin Mondeo, although we might use the Picasso this weekend - Mondeo is automatic and tends to be up and down the gears a lot when towing on winding roads!!) wind him up too!  At least he relaxes once the trailer is up and he's got a beer in his hand.  We'll be putting the awning on for only the second time this weekend, so fun is promised, but it does give LOADS of socialising space!  We'll see you sometime on Friday - I'll put the kettle on, and the beer will be cold for when you arrive!

The entrance should be fine for a trailer - never had any problems with the pullman , but the van's a bit longer ! - still getting the hang of having such a 'lump' behind - and only getting 25mpg with it on.
