Hi all I am considering a 2 week trip to Europe, hoping to visit a few countries with a longer stay in the middle. Does anyone having any experience who could advise regarding route planning, places to stay etc. We have done a three week trip before with folding camper staying in Italy for a week but was 10 years ago and can't remember how I went about booking everything etc.
First you need to identify those ares you want to visit, without being rude Europe is a big place!
Routes will then be apparent, motorways or meandering?
ACIS camping card and their campsites via app or handbooks.
Of course useful reviews on this site.
Sorry was probably a little vague we will enter via Dover or Rotterdam. The info I was asking about was are there any useful sites to assist with route planning and also where to find info on sites. I would imagine we will probably look at visiting Germany, Holland, Belgium and France. Thanks
You should probably post in the Camping Abroad Forum ... and browse it .... will provide most help.
An ACSI card will be useful if you are camping outside of the 'High Season' i.e. not in July/August.
We camped for many years all over Europe with our FC ... just switched to a caravan ... so are well versed! Actually, it makes little difference what you are camping in (except Motor Homes), with regard to campsites, traveling etc (though FC's and TT's and small trailers only attract Class 1 (same as a solo car) rates for motorway tolls in France).
When you are going will have a lot to do with your choices ... we usually make final choices a day before we leave, re weather/destinations ... terrible to have your sites inflexibly planned or booked, only to find torrential rain forecast for the whole period!
Anyway ... start a thread in Camping Abroad ... you'll be inundated with suggestions ... Use Via Michelin website for route planning.
