Hello all
Being a long term lurker, reading the threads on this forum convinced us to buy a Holtkamper Flyer a few years ago. It has been a joy to own, however, we've more recently got a motorhome and so sadly are thinking that it's time to sell the flyer. It's a bit of heart-wrenching move but we can't really justify keeping it as it's just not getting used and it really should go to a good home rather than sit in our garage.
It's a fantastic tent, we bought it in the Netherlands from a family who had owned it for many years, and we brought it back to the UK.
I thought I would check here if there is any interest from holtkamper enthusiasts before posting on ebay. Would love it to go to a fellow enthusiast!
Some details:
Holtkamper Flyer Expedition, from 1992.
Complete setup, including kitchen
Includes extra sections to expand the awning
Awning is fully closable across the front and includes an extra window in the front wall
Canvas is all in great condition, faded in the sun but completely waterproof. There is one small tear on an internal wall (could easily be taped and doesn't affect waterproofing)
Kitchen includes:
- 3 burner stove
- 5kg gas bottle (refillable in Netherlands)
- cooler box with 3-way power (gas / mains / 12v when driving)
Trailer details:
- Al-ko chassis w handbrake & jockey wheel
- larger van tires fitted, meaning cruising at 70mph is no problem
- 13-pin connector to towbar
The width of the trailer means you do not need extra mirrors for towing. Tows very nicely, doesn't bounce around and is nice and stable.
Sleeps 4 comfortably and could stretch to more. One double bedroom, another bedroom with hard floor, and a central room for living or eating plus large awning space.
Lots of storage in the middle of the trailer when folded up for all your other camping kit.
It really does go up fast; the main section goes up in 5 mins. There are some videos online showing how it pops up.
Overall great condition for the age, and well loved by our family. This is the classic holtkapmper design which they manufactured for decades, and the quality still shines through despite the age.
I have lots of photos but not sure how to post them on here. Ping me if you are interested and I will send over. Based in north Kent and anyone is welcome to come over and have a look. Otherwise it will go on ebay in a bit.
Cheers
Mike
