Hello campers, some exciting news...
After much deliberation - mostly wanting a modern Sunncamp - we found a very local, very clean Transcamper for the sum of £500 crispy ones.
Good points; hard top, modernish looking (curtains probably will be dyed navy), additional burner and a tap, two awnings, tripod awning poles making it so easy to put up - for example one section of awning only has two poles that need fixing together! Ground sheet, mini fridge and other additional freebies, clean as anything and just over an hour away.
Bad points; there is a small mark on a bit of the roof where they cleaned bird poo off with NikWax so that bit has a whiteish tinge but hopefully won't have ruined the natural waterpoofing, doesn't have cupboards under the benches, just empty space but sure we can sort something. There are also no covers for the bench cushions but after the first use we will see how comfy the foam is and either get them covered, or replace the foam and then get them covered.
We also don't know the year and not sure how to work it out! Camperlands have said the colours are fitting to a 1999 - 20002 age but nothing more specific... Insurance companies aren't keen on guess work and I'm wondering if the canvas has been replaced as other guesses have come in at 1996.
Here is a pic of the serial numbers if someone could give me an idea of year? Also any ideas what the 1000kg means?
Finally, any suggestions for our first trip out would be really appreciated, any little tips to keep things dry/clean/comfortable? Do the bed pods go on top of the foam as we have straps that hold the bed foam down so assume the foam doesn't go in the pods!
------------- Please forgive my 1000's of questions - still learning!
