Using our brand new countryman for the first week long trip since we have owned it and I have noticed that the front box leaks in water when it rains. The water comes in down the back of the transit cover when it is rolled up and I get a puddle of water in the front box. Does anybody else have this?

I think it is a wet box, does it have drains in the bottom?

Yes, our 1995 one always did this.....looks like it's been retained as a design feature!

XVI yes?

the holes in the bottom are to allow gas to escape so do not cover then, I haven't noticed mine leak but I did get this when I had my caravan and that was new I asked the dealer he said they are not water tight
We are going away next week if it rains I will let you know

On my 2013 Fiesta at handover I was told the front box is not water tight so not to leave anything in there that might be affected by a bit of water.
I've not noticed any puddles of water in it though to be honest.

Thread resurrection: having driven from Denmark to Calais at the end of last week through some dreadful weather, the front box is definitely not waterproof - lots of damp shoes.

In our FC, the floor sealant at the back of the front box (the front edge of the living space front wall) has failed, so we had a fair amount of water ingress to the front cupboards and floor.

It's in our garage now, and I'll be re-sealing this properly when all dried out. Next time, we'll ensure the front box is packed appropriately for wet conditions.
