Hi All.I am new to this forum. I have bought a third hand Trigano Chantilly TT so my grown up offspring can come away with us when we are in our Caravan, and to see if this is they love his sort of holiday as much as we do.
Anyway, the TT is in reasonable Nick for its age and price. I have put new tyres on it. The awning poles are all present but some of them have broken springs. They are also rather old and stiff ( bit like me), when trying to extend them, when putting the awning up.
2 questions:
Is it worth replacing the pole springs, and if so is it an easy job?
Is there a lubricant that might ease things, without damaging the canvas?
Thanks in advance for any replies.
When i've replaced the springs in tent poles i've found it a bit fiddly but when you've worked out a good way of doing it easy enough. I always gave poles that were a bit stiff a spray of fabsil, not going to affect any tent canvas it comes into contact with and seemed to help them slide rather than stick..
Thanks Kate. Great tip on the Fabsil. I have a spray tin, I will give it a go. I'll think about the pole springs if it is fiddly. They are not essential to function.

If i remember right they don't cost much, might be worth a go. You need something to push the broken ones further down inside the poles then it's just getting the new ones in far enough but not too far each end.
Thanks Kate and Lucas, I had a look at a video on you tube, and decided to give it a go, so I have ordered some. I am set to give the poles a makeover when they arrive.
Thanks again
Mel
