I'm re cording my trailer cover as the bungee cord has gone really brittle. I've ordered some new cord but I'm not sure how I'm going to fix the ends together. Any ideas?

how I did mine was a piece of shrink tube over one end then overlap the 2 ends of the chord 2 small zipp/cable ties pulled up as tight as possible then cover the join with shrink wrap and shrink it with either steam or a heat gun if you are very careful us a flame

Burn the cut end with a cigarette lighter or similar to seal it and stop it freying.

We used the very strong gaffer tape putting the old end to new end taping very tightly round them and just pulled it through

Gaffer tape worked for me from old to new, although it came apart most of the way through the front "tunnel" and was a bit fiddly to recover.

To fix the new ends together, look up the Zeppelin Bend knot. I Araldited the ends after tying to prevent fraying.
