hi everyone, just joined. I am new to camping, bought aConway trailer tent.Ihave three young kids.Would love to start but am worried it might be too cold yet at night for kids.Let me know anybody that has been out allready.
Hi and welcome to ukcs...the kids will be fine as long as you are wise in bedding and clothing choice, having said that its been 20 degrees hee in somerset today so its been great camping weather..plenty here been out..hang on a bit and someone will be in to take you throgh it all...
Kids seem less worried than adults. If you are up off the ground they'll be fine. Plenty of bedding under you as well as over. Either decent sleeping bags or cheaper ones with some blankets or an old duvet. Let them keep their socks on if its really cold.
------------- Good friends are hard to find, difficult to leave and impossible to forget.
Went away at easter, we take good sleeping bags, a quilt each, hot water bottles and I sleep in my hat and sock's and a thin fleece if its really cold. better to take extra thing with you to keep warm and not need them, than to not have them and be cold. The best thing is deffinatly the hot water bottles.
Hope you get to go away soon and have a great time
We took our 2 kids away the weekend after Easter. On the Friday night it got down to freezing but it didn't bother them. Just make sure you have plenty of layers to keep them warm!
Hi shamrock lady..glad you got help you needed, I dare say more is on the way still.I take plenty of warm clothing. If it gets wet I have spares, if its cold I have extra layers, either way its never wasted..you can put layers on but hard to remove them if you never brought them in the first place..
Aint they lovely on here? Great people. I hope you can make it to one of our meets sometime. I am certain you will enjoy putting faces to names.
Yes I agree too, you can never have enough clothing etc. I went out for a weekend in mid April. The first night it really tip down and was cold! But the next night, we were too warm! At least with layers, you can put on or take off as much as you want!
