There have been a lot of posts on heaters that people use, it's a popular topic!
We usually take a week in October, last year it was mostly damp with a couple of beautiful days. The temperature dropped at night.
About three years ago we bought a convector heater with various settings, it warms the FC and awning quickly, at night we have it low and it keeps the chill off. The kettle and the heater don't like each other, together they trip the switch, we use a kettle on the gas instead.
We also bought a small oil heater from a camping shop, but have never found it as efficient as the convector.
Take cosy bedding, in our case duvets and soft snuggle rugs, warm PJ's and a hot water bottle.
Last year we stayed near Stonehenge and went to stourhead gardens, the Autumn colours were stunning.
Yes, October is a fabulous month to get away.
